Day One-Hundred-Ninety-Three

When Isabel turned six months old, I vowed to myself that I would work harder to write more frequently here rather than less.  Apparently my vows don’t mean much because this is the longest I have gone without a post.  Actually, there is one I started that is saved that I will go back and tag and name and then there will be a short one there, but otherwise, pathetic.  But enough about that.

Isabel is growing.  She is getting a lot stronger.  She can sit unassisted for several minutes, although I keep my hands right there because she will suddenly tip over.  She has also started to eat bland things like bread and crackers.  Well, eat is a big word for what really happens.  Mostly she spits all over whatever the food item is, then drops it on the floor.  Her eating is so sweet and endearing.  Her little tongue moves in and out and she licks the food, working her mouth sort of like when she’s nursing.  Just thinking of it melts my heart.

We went back to cloth diapers.  Once I decided how to do it, the transition wasn’t so difficult.  I just didn’t want to spend another forty bucks on disposables.  We are not using anything fancy, simply soft, cotton and flannel liners with a diaper cover.  I also bought some waterproof outer covering to make my own covers in pretty colors.  We’ll see how quickly that happens.  I started sewing a curtain several days ago and the project is stopped midway on the kitchen table even as I type this at 6:30 a.m. before I have to go to work.

I love my babies.  Milla is getting so tall and growing into a young woman.  It’s amazing to see the changes.  I’m glad I have my little wee one to get my baby fix.  She’s such a dear.  I hold her and rub her back and my body fills with warm fuzzies.  It’s probably just oxytocin, but I love it. I love both of them.

Time really flies by so fast. Without even knowing our kids are already starting to walk and live on their own.
